Ezzouhra Bahjouk, Moroccan Speaking Partner for 2024

Bio: Ezzouhra Bajouk, 25, embarked on her academic journey in the English department, earning her Diplôme d'Etudes Universitaires Générales (DEUG). After completing her studies, she entered the professional world to support herself and continue her education in the school of life.

Ezzouhra's career began as an English teacher in various educational centers, where she honed her skills in communication and pedagogy. This experience laid a strong foundation for her subsequent role in customer service within the hospitality industry. Working in hotels, she developed a deep understanding of client relations and service excellence.

During this time, Ezzouhra also volunteered with Moroccan Animal Aid. This experience was truly life-changing, as she found happiness and joy in helping animals, feeding them, and treating them medically. The volunteer work enriched her life, deepening her compassion and sense of responsibility.

Last year, Ezzouhra learned about the Dar Si Hmad Foundation from some friends and was immediately intrigued by their mission and projects. The opportunity to become a Speaking Partner for their Ethnographic Field School (EFS) seemed like a perfect fit for her background and aspirations. She eagerly applied for the role and was thrilled to be selected for an interview with Dr. Jamila Bargach and Noura.

The interview process was both rigorous and enlightening. Ezzouhra is grateful that it went well, and she was chosen to be part of this inspiring initiative. Her journey with Dar Si Hmad began, and it has been an incredible experience so far. Through their meetings and collaborations, she has gained valuable insights and knowledge.

Pre-program thoughts: As a Speaking Partner, I am excited to assist students in their research by providing translation services and facilitating communication. This role not only allows me to utilize my language skills but also offers me the chance to contribute to meaningful cultural exchanges and academic endeavors.

Looking ahead, I am eager to work on the field, embracing new experiences, and creating memorable moments. Dar Si Hmad Foundation has already enriched my life, and I look forward to the continue journey of learning and growth with this remarkable organization.
