Blog #2.17 Impressions of Essaouira

Essaouira is such a beautiful city and its history is echoed in every street and alley when one walks through them. Although known as a windy city, it is warm and accepting of all visitors. Seagulls abound overhead yet cats greet everyone on the city’s alleys and the streets within the medina inside the walls of the city. The vibes of Essaouira are still based on the interface provided by the sea trade and peaceful relations in an overall sense since the late 18th Century under Ruler Mohammed III. I find it in a pure balance of historic and modern, traditional, and eccentric, and look forward to my stay and hopefully future visits here.
